Restoring a Plantation on Ancient Woodland site to mixed broadleaf and coppice. Hillyfield delivered 2.5% of Dartmoor's restoration target in 2015.

Supporting and Enhancing Biodiversity at The Hillyfield. It's home to badgers, doormice, otters, and owls. We think there was a resident Goshawk for winter 2015/2016.

As well as a place of very special charm, Hillyfield is a working woodland. The wood which pays Stays... Here Rupert Lane is measuring the girth of trees to calculate how much timber is left standing after the felling of disease timber.

17acres of organic pasture are grazed by sheep and cattle. We are planning to give a corner of our field over to a community project called 'Wood Land Culture'. Please get in touch if interested.

We grow 8 different varieties of willow for basketry and other uses. If you want to make something, learn a skill, or simply come to enjoy helping with the harvest, then get in touch.
